Freelance Whales were so good last night at the El Rey. I went in expecting a pretty chill, maybe even boring show, and they just killed it. They had so much more energy than comes off in their recorded songs and it made me actually enjoy listening to their albums significantly more after the fact (something I don't get to say very often). They've previously been featured on here with Generator ^ First Floor, so naturally, let's go with the "sequel"...

ps - i was supposed to go see carrie underwood perform in someone's living room tonight, but it didn't work out...i don't think i've ever been so bummed to miss a show where i wasn't even a fan of the artist
